Join us for a brilliant 6 week course, equipping you with all the knowledge Pradeepa wishes she had, when she first started with watercolour. This is a comprehensive course, at the end of which, the goal is to enable you to have the confidence, knowledge and skills to paint your own paintings. Dates: 29/1, 5/2, 12/2, 26/2, 5/3, 12/3. Please note, there is no class on 19/2. In this course, we will cover: Week 1: ● Types of watercolour paper ● Painting a simple landscape- wet on wet and wet on dry ● Different consistencies of paint ● Creating flat and graded washes ● How to set up for watercolour painting ● Homework painting Week 2 ● Painting- introduction to values and painting a value study- river scene ● Composition and choosing reference photos ● Water control and the stages of drying ● Looking at different kinds of brushes and how to use them ● Homework painting Week 3 ● Different kinds of pigments and colours ● How to choose colours for your palette ● Painting- river scene in colour ● Colour theory and painting colour wheel ● Homework painting Week 4 ● A mainly painting session-studies of 3-4 subjects of participants’ choice eg- flowers, clouds, seas, stiillife, animals etc ● Homework painting Week 5 ● Planning edges ● Special effects- use of salt, clingfilm etc ● Painting- seaside with surf and flowers ● Homework painting Week 6 ● Correcting mistakes ● Final painting ● Wrap up and review There will be an optional private Facebook group to post your paintings made during the course at home and for asking questions and feedback. That is also an option to purchase a starter watercolour kit for £50. This kit includes a 9 x 12“ watercolour pad with 12 sheets, a board to adhere paper on to, a set of brushes and a plastic pallet loaded up with the paints we will be using during the course. This kit is only for painting and practising at home. Please let us know when purchasing the course, if you need one. All course materials and refreshments are included in the £240 fee. This course is perfect for beginner to intermediate watercolour painters. The course is designed for attendees over 18 years old only. A minimum of 5 will be required for this workshop to take place. Please note that the toilet is upstairs. Sessions are non-refundable unless cancelled by Sage and Salt Studio. Parking is available at Swan Street Car Park, GU32 3EW. RingGo available.

Cancellation Policy
All workshop bookings at Sage and Salt Studio are non-refundable. If you need to cancel your place more than 90 days before the workshop date, we are happy to transfer your booking to another workshop of your choice (subject to availability). If you cancel within 90 days of the workshop, we cannot transfer your booking. However, you are very welcome to send someone else in your place. This must be arranged by you, and we kindly ask that you let us know the name of the person attending. In the case of a fully booked workshop with a waiting list, we will do our best to resell your place. If we are able to do so, we can transfer your booking to another workshop of your choice. We hope you understand that our tutors and team put a lot of work into preparing for workshops and, once booked, your place is held just for you.
