This twenty by ten inch mosaic is a vibrant celebration of colour. Designed to be displayed either vertically or horizontally, it features a flowing strip of seaglass, sea pottery, shells and stones arranged in a soft rainbow that follows the shape of the frame. The mix of tones gives it a bright, uplifting feel while the natural textures keep it rooted in the shoreline.
 
Among the colours is a highly rare piece of deep purple seaglass. True purple seaglass is uncommon because very few glass items were ever made in that colour. Most purple seaglass comes from old clear glass that contains manganese which turns lavender after long exposure to sunlight. Deep purple pieces like this one often come from much older, intentionally coloured glass and are considered real finds by beachcombers. The mosaic also includes other scarce colours such as yellow and certain blues which add to its uniqueness and charm.
 
Every fragment has been shaped naturally by the sea which means the piece is full of character and movement. It makes a beautiful statement artwork for anyone who loves coastal treasures or enjoys art with rich natural colour.
