“Anchors Aweigh” is a bold coastal mosaic created from seaglass, sea pottery, shells and stones gathered from our local beaches. The anchor shape gives it that classic nautical look while the mixture of colours and textures brings the piece to life.
Hidden within the design is a single piece of pirate seaglass. Pirate seaglass is the name often given to old, naturally weathered black glass. It was commonly used for bottles in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and now washes up on beaches looking almost like a smooth dark gem. It is a lovely nod to maritime history and adds a little sense of mystery to the artwork.
Every fragment has been shaped by the tide so the whole piece feels authentic and full of character. It makes a striking choice for anyone who loves the sea, sailing or coastal decor.
Presented in a sixteen inch solid wood white circular frame with a glass front for a clean and high quality finish.
You can collect it for free from Sage and Salt Studio in Petersfield, GU32 3AD or I can post it for the packaging and postage cost.
